Mary Kate attends Sycamore School in Indianapolis where she is the President of Student Leadership Council, in Concert Choir and a Cadette level Girl Scout.
Mary Kate starred in the role of Annie in ANNIE the musical at The Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre in Carmel, IN (that ran from 10/13/-10/28 2017).
Her first musical theatre performance was at the age of 5 as an orphan in a production of Annie Jr. at the Black Box Theatre Company in Lebanon, IN.
Since then, she has been steadily working to hone her skills in all areas of musical theatre including acting, singing and dancing.
Mary Kate began dancing around the age of 3, first at Dance Class Studio in Carmel and for the past several years at Performers Edge Dance Studio also in Carmel.
She has taken many years of ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary dance and was a member of dance competition teams at both studios for several years.
Mary Kate has taken many acting and musical theatre classes and camps through the Jr Civic education program at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre.
She is also a member of the Act One performing troupe at Jr Civic. In addition to her current role as Annie at the Civic Theatre, Mary Kate has also performed at Civic as Gracie Shinn in THE MUSIC MAN and Goldilocks in THE TRIAL OF GOLDILOCKS.
Mary Kate has also performed in several musicals at her school, including in ANNIE, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and THE KING AND I.
This past summer she experienced her first professional acting job as a member of the cast of SHREK at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre.
Mary Kate joined Musicality Arts in 2016 and has enjoyed performing at several events with this group of singers from around Central Indiana, including at an Indianapolis Indians baseball game and an Indy Fuel hockey match, at holiday performances at the Indiana State Museum and at Tree Fest at the Warren Performing Arts Center.
She also appeared in a televised show called Nashville Spotlight in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 2016 Mary Kate was invited to perform with the theatre department at Anderson University in their production of GYPSY, where she portrayed Baby June. And Mary Kate is one of a handful of local kids featured in the interactive Dance! exhibit at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
This past holiday season, Mary Kate played the role of Belinda Cratchit in Beef & Board’s production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, and she will also be a member of the children’s choir in The Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre’s production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.
